How an import permit for boric acid, non-boric acid and biocides for non-insecticidal use is obtained under Chapter III-A.
Does my chemical need a permit?
Search the Schedule to the Insecticides Act, 1968 by chemical name, IUPAC name or CAS number.

To obtain a CIBRC import permit: confirm the chemical is scheduled and the use is non-insecticidal; complete KYC on the CIB&RC portal; prepare Form IA with licence, capacity and consumption evidence; file it online with the prescribed government fee; respond to any inquiry; and download the permit after the Registration Committee approves it, preferably within 45 days.
Confirm the chemical and route
Check the substance against the Schedule, confirm the use is non-insecticidal, and decide between domestic-use and export-linked applications.
KYC on the CROP portal
Register the applicant entity and complete Know Your Customer verification on the CIB&RC online portal.
Build the Form IA file
Assemble capacity, consumption, licence, pollution-consent and affidavit evidence so every figure agrees.
File online and pay the government fee
Submit Form IA with annexures and the prescribed government fee of ₹5,000. Incomplete applications can be rejected without notice.
Scrutiny and RC decision
The Secretariat examines the file and may inquire into it; the Registration Committee decides, preferably within 45 days.
Download the permit
The permit is issued in your portal login. Share it with your customs broker before the goods ship.
Decision targeted within 45 days of a complete application, extendable by up to 15 days.
